The moment everyone has been waiting for is finally here! Registration for ACHA 2018 is now open! Our Program Planning Committee, Continuing Education Committee, Board of Directors, and National Office can’t wait to welcome you to Washington, DC for five days of networking, collaboration, and continuing education.
Every year, the ACHA Annual Meeting brings you new and innovative ways to connect with colleagues. This year, we’ve changed the format of the Preliminary Program to bring you an online version that’s much more dynamic and interactive. Start with the Meeting Schedule at a Glance for an overview of each day.
You’ll see that, as always, Tuesday is all about Pre-Conference Workshops. These are three-hour intensive sessions that are intended to help participants enhance specific skill sets or train to acquire specific competencies appropriate to practice in their discipline. This year we are bringing you 14 sessions sure to pique any interest.
Wednesday kicks off the core of the conference with the Opening General Session and Keynote Address. You can read more about our keynote speaker Anne Schuchat, MD (RADM, UPHS) from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, our Dorosin Memorial Lecturer Andres De Los Reyes, PhD from the University of Maryland, and Closing Presidential Session Speaker Jake Olson on our Featured Events page. There’s also information about the ACHA Leaders’ Appreciation Lunch, Newcomer’s Orientation, and Assembly of Representatives. Additionally on Wednesday, we are pleased to bring you our Opening Reception: Celebrating Diversity – an always popular event great for networking and simply having some fun with your college health and wellness colleagues.
This year we are changing the format of the Awards and Fellows Celebration Dinner. Now entitled ACHA Celebrates! the evening will include the Awards and Fellows Presentation, a dessert reception, and a performance by the nationally known political satire group The Capitol Steps. This is no longer a ticketed event and will be open to all ACHA 2018 meeting attendees with their badges.
